Choosing a school is a very important decision in a family’s life. Our admissions process is designed to give you as much information as you need to make an informed decision about enrolling your children in the Vancouver Waldorf School. It is as important for us to know who you are and what you are looking for in a school, as it is for you to know who we are and what Waldorf education is about.
In addition to the information offered on our website, we also offer monthly introductory sessions – A Waldorf Welcome – and Open Houses throughout the year. Please visit the Events page for the next available session. You are also welcome to contact us directly to arrange an individual tour, or to request an information package.
Application
Complete the appropriate form(s) and return to the Director of Admissions. Please include copies of your child(ren)’s birth certificate(s) and, for children applying to grades 1 -12, report card(s) for the past year.
Preschool, Kindergarten and first grade have age limits as follows:
Preschool: age 3 by June 1
Kindergarten: age 4 by June 1
First grade: age 6 by June 1
Interview
Upon receipt, the Director of Admissions will forward the application to the appropriate teacher(s). The teacher(s) will contact you to schedule an interview with you and your child(ren). This interview is to assess both the school’s ability to meet the needs of your child and the level of fit for your and your family with our educational approach and curriculum, as well as to provide an opportunity for you to ask questions. Although not required, we recommend that students also visit the class for one to three days after the interview.

Tuition Arrangements
Once acceptance is confirmed by the class teacher, the Director of Admissions will schedule an appointment with you to complete admission requirements, sign a Tuition Agreement and to arrange payments. All new students pay a non-refundable admission fee of $200.00. There are two options for tuition payment, 1.) full payment in advance with a discount, or 2.) monthly payments via automatic debits from your bank account. All new students pay a $200 admission fee. The Tuition Agreement must be signed and financial arrangements made prior to your child(ren) attending class.
