This two hour event will include tours into our beautiful Early Childhood Centre that houses the Preschool and Kindergarten programs. Refreshments provided.

The Child's Journey from Kindergarten
to Grade School
OPEN TO ALL
How does Waldorf education nurture the development of children once they are ready to begin formal academic learning in first grade and beyond?
When a child enters first grade he/she is ready and eager to begin learning writing, reading, and arithmetic. But it is not simply the acquisition of knowledge that is important.
Please join Sarah Nelson, our Grade Three teacher for an in-depth look at how the Waldorf curriculum teaches academics while nurturing childrens’ creativity and their inner need for true authority, providing security for them to reach out into the world.

How does Waldorf Education see the first seven years as a an opportunity to set the foundation for the rest of a child's life, and what can parents do to support healthy child development? A series of talks offered by the VWS early childhood faculty. Feel free to invite friends, family and colleagues.

How to get to the Vancouver Waldorf School
By car
From Highway 1 (Trans-Canada)
- take the Lynn Valley Road exit and turn right onto Lynn Valley Road.
- From Lynn Valley Road turn left onto St. Christophers Road. The school is on your left hand side at 2725 St Christophers Road.
By public transport
From Vancouver,
-
take the Sea Bus to Lonsdale Quay.
- From the Lonsdale Quay bus loop take the #228 or the #229 bus. The #228 stops along Lynn Valley Road. The #229 stops at the corner of 29th Street and St. Christophers Road. The school is at 2725 St Christophers Road.
