The Vancouver Waldorf School (VWS), now in its 36th year, offers a full Early Childhood to Grade Twelve program. The recently completed and anthroposophically designed Early Childhood Centre houses our Early Childhood programs. Our current site development plan includes completing the building of the remaining buildings on one campus, including the Grade School, High School and Performance Hall.

We operate with a unique three-fold governance structure, which includes a Pedagogical Carrying Group (College of Teachers) and a pedagogical committee/task group system that effectively empowers Faculty to participate in the running of the school, an effective Board of Trustees with fiduciary responsibility, and a growing community and resource development department.

We also have an Executive Group which oversees the day-to-day operations of the school, and ensures that all issues are carried and resolved appropriately and expeditiously. We operate with an administrative structure that has developed protocols and procedures intended to support the work of the faculty and provide friendly and supportive service to the families that seek Waldorf education. We also have an active Parent Council, and a Social Inclusion Program Coordinator who oversees the implementation of Kim Payne's Social Inclusion Program.

Waldorf education has been growing steadily in the Pacific Northwest, and Vancouver Waldorf School is one of several Waldorf schools in the region (see www.waldorf-northwest.info). This provides many opportunities for personal growth, deepening the education through workshops, lectures or conferences.

Mild weather combined with a unique location by the Pacific Ocean and Coastal Mountain Range, makes Vancouver one of the most beautiful and enjoyable places to live.
