The Cascadia Society – Home Share

Are you interested in becoming a Cascadia shared living/homeshare provider?

Home Sharing is a residential option in which a person with a disability elects to share a home with another individual, couple or family who provide ongoing support and assistance. Individuals interested in this option are matched with home share providers living in the community who have been recruited and screened to provide 24-hour residential support in their homes. In most cases, if they choose, home sharing providers will be able to maintain their current employment outside their home.

The Cascadia Society is seeking people who are interested in providing paid home sharing services in their own home for adults of various ages with developmental disabilities. Having your residence in North Vancouver is required. We require people who will help these adults to participate in activities of daily living at home and in the community and who will provide a warm, caring, and positive environment. Successful applicants will have excellent communication skills as well as experience working with individuals who have a developmental disability.

Cascadia homeshare providers recognize the striving of Cascadia and its extended community which situates itself within the philosophy of Anthroposophy and Camphill. Cascadia homeshare providers are a part of the Cascadia homes circle, which provides guidance, training and support.

Compensation is provided on a contract basis and determined by Community Living BC’s Guide to Support Allocation.
