May Day
Our May Day celebration is a joyous festival filled with song, dance, and merriment.
This spring festival celebrates the lengthening of days, the awakening of the new growing season, and the rebirth of our external natural environment.
The grade school children enjoy the tradition of dancing to music around the Maypole which is decorated with flowers and colored ribbons. All of the students sing traditional spring songs. Parents are invited to watch the students weave colored ribbons around the pole for each dance.
Our Early Childhood students are visited by Lady Spring who brings each child a flower seed contained in a small pot to watch grow over the next several weeks.
The May Day festival is the spring celebration of rejuvenating forces and beauty of nature and life in general.
