Week At A Glance – March 12 – 17

Dear Parents,

We are now in the final stretch before Spring Break! This week we will be hosting the Grade 8 Project Presentations on Monday and Tuesday evenings, the VWSS Board will be meeting Wednesday, let’s all come together to celebrate our children on Thursday at the Festival of the Arts, and then finally on Friday before early dismissal we are hosting a Wool Workshop for Spring with Ella through the Red Door Store.

I want to thank everyone for their help with the Spring Market over the weekend – from setup and tear down, to holding children’s activities and musical performers, and to hauling and delivering equipment – we couldn’t have done it with you! Grade 11 – your presence was strong and so lovely! The cafe was a real treat, as were your items for sale in the Marketplace. The vendors lived up to all expectations; it was wonderful to see both new and familiar faces manning booths of beautiful and quality wares! Thank you to our friends at Cascadia for your offerings, we are ever so grateful for our everlasting bond. Last, though certainly not least, I would like to thank our hardworking planning committee: Jann Winters, Gwynneth Sobejko, Laura Montgomery, Nicole Beauchesne and Inna Goncharova – thank you so very much for holding space for this lovely community event to flourish and grow, the Spring Market came across as seamless and effortless. Thank you!

I have some exciting news, we will be “hiving” our bees this weekend. If you are interested in witnessing the process, please contact me at lbergstrome@vws.ca and I can give you specifics as I learn more.

My next “Week at a Glance” will be in April – wishing you a wonderful Spring Break in advance!
