Week At A Glance – May 7 – 13

Week At A Glance – May 7 – 13

Dear Parents & Guardians,

I’d like to congratulate Phil Fetrey and his Grade 8 class for four wonderful performances of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Each performance improved upon the last, and culminated with two wonderful shows on Friday and Saturday nights. After 8 years of class plays, these young thespians should be feeling quite proud.

This weekend, our Grade 12 students will be presenting 308, a play that they have written themselves. See the details below, and come out to support this small but, mighty class.

Announcements:

The theme for our Community Forum this year will be “an evening of stories”… Join us on Wednesday evening for a wine & cheese reception, to be followed by interviews with Marjory Thatcher and Phil Fertey as they reflect upon their learnings as teachers, and share their wishes for the future. An opportunity not to be missed!

Grade 12 presents their play: 308 on Saturday, May 12 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, May 13 at 7:00 pm at the Presentation House Theatre, 333 Chesterfield Ave, North Vancouver. Tickets are available for $5 each at Grade School or High School reception. Seating is limited so please be sure to reserve your spot! The play is suitable for mature audiences, Grade 7 and older.

Our students are excited to share with you their musical achievements at our annual Spring Music Concert next Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm at Highlands United Church in Edgemont Village. Letters were sent home last week outlining arrival times and clothing requirements, but you can also find those details here: vws.ca/spring-music-concert

And finally, a reminder to High School parents that the meeting originally scheduled for tonight has been cancelled. A new date will be set soon.

Wishing you a great week ahead.

Warmly,
