Week At A Glance – January 15 – 20

Week At A Glance – January 15 – 20

We hope that you have purchased your tickets to attend our presentation on Friday evening with Kim John Payne. He is joining us to talk about the “The No Maybe Yes Years: Preparing for Parenting Tweens and Teens”. Don’t be misled by the title, this Parent Education evening is well suited to parents with children ages 8 to 18 or to those who work with youth. As of writing this email, there are only 21 more tickets available, so if you were on the fence about attending, this would be a good time to purchase your ticket now before they are all gone! Grade 10 Play: The Passage – Saturday, January 20 at 8:00 pm. Under the direction of Sandra Ferens, this class has been working to develop the theme, plot and script for a play exploring a pivotal moment set in a dystopian future. Follow the path of discovery into the nature of existence and ask the big question: Why?

Community Coffee Mornings – Join us for coffee or tea each Friday after drop-off between 8:30 and 10:00 am. Stay a while, or just drop in for a bite and a hot drink to start off your day! This is an unstructured gathering to meet other parents and socialize. Contributions of snacks and baked goods are always welcomed, as are volunteers to help set up or clear away at the end.

Open Houses – For parents whose children are entering Grade 1 next year, we invite your family to attend our Open House on Saturday, January 27 from 10:00 – 12:30, to get an exciting preview of the grades curriculum. For families with children in Grades 6, 7 & 8 we hope you will attend our High School Open House on Tuesday, January 30 from 7:00-9:00 pm. Please direct friends with children in any grade, who are not already enrolled at VWS, but who have expressed interest, to our website.

Have a lovely week!

Warmly,
