The Vancouver Waldorf School was established in 1971 and offers an academic, artistic and practical education for children from early childhood beginning with a Parent and Tot program through to Grade 12 graduation. Our programs of study meet the British Columbia Ministry of Education’s expected learning goals and outcomes. Further to this, as a Waldorf School, we offer a unique education that is based on an understanding of the human being and of child development out of the foundational pedagogical research developed by Rudolf Steiner.
The Vancouver Waldorf School seeks to expand its faculty with like-minded colleagues committed to working out of Waldorf education’s foundational theories and practices, colleagues who will inspire their students to love learning. Key qualities also include strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment across departments. Successful candidates will have excellent class management and organizational skills that allow them to successfully teach classes of up to 30 students.
Through the Waldorf curriculum, we integrate creative and independent thinking with social responsibility. We strive to foster a school community in which the integrity of each member is respected, a diversity of gifts is recognized, and the participation in service to the school’s vision and mission is encouraged.
Teachers are contributing members of the Vancouver Waldorf School actively involved in the life of the school through participation in Faculty meetings, School events and committees.
The salary range for the 1.0 FTE position is $43,000 to $61,153 per annum depending upon experience and qualifications.
