Choosing a school is a very important decision in a family’s life. Our admissions process is designed to give you as much information as you need to make an informed decision about enrolling your children in the Vancouver Waldorf School. It is just as important for us to know who you are and what you are looking for in a school, as it is for you to know who we are and what Waldorf education is about.

Step 1 – Explore & Learn
In addition to the information offered on our website, we also offer information sessions, open houses, and tours throughout the year.
Events designed for adults to experience the wonder of Waldorf education. *We are currently exploring options to host these events via webinar and will update the website when more information comes available.
Our Open Houses are structured events with planned activities for the entire family. *Due to limits on group gatherings, all open houses are on hold until further notice.
Our Admissions Coordinator invites you to book a private tour. A virtual tour is in production and will be an excellent way for you to experience our school from the comfort of your home.

Our school follows the developmental philosophy of Waldorf Education, therefore children are grouped into grades according to age. Please note the following age specifications for September entry and inquire if space is available in the class you are interested in.
Preschool: Age 3 by June 1
Kindergarten: Age 5 by December 31
First grade: Age 6 by June 1
Second grade: Age 7 June 1
Third grade: Age 8 by June 1
Fourth grade: Age 9 by June 1
Fifth grade: Age 10 by June 1
Sixth grade: Age 11 by June 1
Seventh grade: Age 12 by June 1
Eighth grade: Age 13 by June 1
Step 2 – Complete an Application
Complete our multipage application form by setting up a Parent Portal account with username and password. (view instructions) At this time a non-refundable Application Fee of $200 per student ($350 for international students) is required along with the following documentation:
- copy of your child’s birth certificate
- report cards for the past two years (if applying to grades 1 -12)

Step 3 – Interview & Class Visit
After we have received your application, documentation and accompanying fees, the Admissions Coordinator will contact you to schedule an interview with the following goals:
- for you and your child to meet the teacher
- assess our ability to meet the needs of your child
- determine the level of fit with our educational approach and curriculum
Your child will then be invited to visit their potential new class for up to three days.
Step 4 – Make Tuition Arrangements
Once acceptance is confirmed, the Admissions Coordinator will schedule an appointment with you to complete admission requirements, sign a Tuition Agreement and to arrange payment.
There are two options for tuition payment:
- Full Payment for the following school year is due by May 1
- 12 Monthly Payments (May-April) via automatic debits from your bank account. *not available to international students
The Tuition Agreement must be signed and financial arrangements made prior to your child(ren) attending class.
