Our May Festival is a joyous celebration filled with song, dance, and merriment celebrating the lengthening of days, the awakening of the new growing season, and the rebirth of our external natural environment.
The children enjoy the tradition of dancing around the Maypole which is decorated with flowers and coloured ribbons. All of the students sing traditional spring songs. Parents are invited to watch the students weave coloured ribbons around the pole for each dance.
Our Early Childhood students are visited by Lady Spring who brings each child a flower seed contained in a small pot to watch grow over the next several weeks and our Grade School students attend the May Court to make offers to the May Queen & King!
The May Festival is the spring celebration of rejuvenating forces and beauty of nature and life in general.
