Waldorf100 – A Hand In Hand: Community Engagement Project
A hands-on community, real instead of virtual: 1,100 schools write and send each other 1 physical postcard – a total of 1,100 cards.
The idea of exchanging postcards is as simple as it is enchanting: If every Waldorf school in the world sends one postcard to every other Waldorf school worldwide, then 1,100 postcards will arrive at each school! At VWS, we have created an inviting “card wall from the world” display. You are welcome to touch and feel, thus making the Waldorf network a tangible reality.
In the 2017-18 school year, we received a package containing 1,100 blank postcards pre-labelled with the addresses of different schools. The backsides were blank so that our students could create their own designs and add the name and address of our school. The whole school participated in the process of creating cards to reflect the individuality and uniqueness of our community.
The cards were printed with environmentally-friendly inks using climate-neutral printing on Blue Angel paper.
