Red Door Store – November Update

Open to all, our Red Door Store stocks an eclectic array of high-quality school and art supplies, natural crafting materials, handmade toys, books for all ages and seasonal consignment items from our talented community. The Store is open most mornings, from 8:30 am – 10:00 am and most afternoons, from 3:00 pm – 3:30 pm. Ella Pedersen, the parent of two children in the Grade School, manages the Store and is always happy to hear from those interested in learning more about our charming little community hub.

What about consignment?

Hand-made and gently used consignment items are welcome from creative makers in our school community. Our consignment rates for hand-made items is 70% to the consignor and 30% to the school. For gently-used items, 60% goes to the consignor and 40% goes to the school. Consignment and gently-used accounts are typically settled every second month depending on the total quantity of sales within that time.

Ella accepts consignment items at her discretion, depending upon space and appropriateness for the store. She maintains the aesthetic and quality continuity of items coming into the small retail space and is open to trying most items for a period of time if it suits the season and there is enough space on the shelves. If you would like to sell something in the Red Door Store, please email to set up an appointment to chat.

What about volunteering?

We are always looking for volunteers to keep the store open, particularly after school, during the very busy Children’s Christmas Fair in November, and during both the November and February breaks when Waldorf Teacher students from the West Coast Institute are visiting. Please contact Ella if you would like to receive training and help-out for an hour each week.  The store is doing well and growing but we still rely on volunteers to keep it afloat. Volunteering in the store is a lot of fun and a great way to connect to our community.
