Take-Home Children’s Winter Fair
We are so excited to offer our community a reimagined Children’s Winter Fair. With the recent rise in COVID-19 cases in BC, we have decided to forego the idea of hosting a walk-through winter wonderland; instead, we will offer a lovely winter-themed goody bag as a take-home Fair experience.
Your goody bag includes a miniature wooden snowflake, a surprise Pocket-lady gift, materials and instructions for a paper window star, yule log take-home supplies, and a pre-packaged caramel apple. Pick up your goody bag from the Grade School via drive-through (or walk-through for those that do not own a car).
Order your Children’s Winter Fair Goody Bag by Friday, November 6.
Select a pick-up time for Saturday, November 21.
Reserve your pick-up time and indicate the number of goody bags requested here https://signup.com/go/KeggGcA. Please write a number in the sign-up comments to indicate how many goody bags your family would like.
This unusual year has presented us with an unexpected opportunity to combine two existing school-wide initiatives: the 50th Annual Children’s Winter Fair and our Annual Giving Campaign, which centres around the global day of philanthropy, GivingTuesday on December 1.
As part of the GivingTuesday campaign, we have decided that the goody bags are by donation to the school’s Community Fund, which funds projects and initiatives that directly benefit your children, their teachers, and our vibrant school community. Please make your donation here https://www.vws.ca/giving/givingtuesday/.
Parents, watch for an email from your Class Rep with greater detail on the Children’s Winter Fair with notes on volunteer opportunities, shopping, and health and safety, and more. Feel free to reach out if you need more information or have questions.
We hope that you share our excitement and are inspired to participate.
on behalf of Your Winter Fair Committee,
Jann Winters, Terra Mentz, Ella Pedersen and Rachel Garratt
