Week At A Glance – May 27 – 31
Dear VWS Families,
Congratulations and welcome back to all our Grade 5 Olympians! Many thanks to the coordinators, volunteers, and faculty members for making this an event to remember. Thank you to our sister schools across BC and Alberta for making the long journey. And thank you to Apollo for sending your rays of light to burn through the rainclouds, creating clear skies for the duration of the event!

Bike to School Week – I’d like to invite as many people as possible to stick around after school today for an info session and activities with Max from SteedCYCLES. This morning, Geoff and Marcus helped to give out “first trip” stickers to post on the board. Let’s see how high we can get the count by the end of the week! ECC families, you are welcome to stop in at Reception to post your trips too!
Important Notes Regarding the Rose Ceremony – Thursday is our Grade 12 Rose Ceremony. Grade 1 students will travel to Highlands United Church by carpool and will be dismissed from the church. Grades 2-5 will bus to and from Highlands and will be dismissed from the Grade School. Grade 6-8 will be bussed to Highlands and will be dismissed from the church. If you are picking up from Highlands, please meet your child in the gym on the lowest level. If your Grade 5-8 child takes the school bus home, please have them notify their class teacher who will make sure that they are shuttled back to the Grade School in time. Grade 9 & 11 students will be dismissed at 1:45 pm at the close of the ceremony.
Beatles Dance – We are sad to say that unfortunately, this dance has been cancelled.
Have a wonderful week.
