Dear VWS Families,
Undoubtedly everyone is excited about the upcoming celebration of Halloween this week.
At the Grade School – Students are to please wear regular clothing to school and then change into their costumes at lunch. Homemade costumes are preferred, please no face paint, gore, guns, or sparkly makeup, however, sparkles on costumes are okay. Please avoid any caricatures of cultures. Some classes have themed costumes, please be sure to speak to your Class Teacher or Class Reps if you need clarification.

A Night for All Souls Grief Circle – A community evening to honour our dearly departed who have passed over the threshold. Grief rituals do not cause grieving, yet may ease the pain of our loss. The evening will include poetry and story, contemplative music, reflections on life after death, and a simple ritual of lighting candles and sharing memories. You may bring a photo, or small memento, of your beloved, to place on the festival table. Presented by Jan Alexander & the Vancouver Threshold Choir, Michel Vles, Jason Yates and Abegael Fisher-Lang. All teens and adults welcome, Friday, November 2 in the Roundhouse. Contact Mary at email@example.com or 604 985 7435 X 226 if you need further information.
Parent-Teacher Interviews – General sign-ups will soon be available for Parents-Teacher Interviews at the Grade School. Unless otherwise specified, Interviews will be conducted during the week of November 13. If you would like to meet with Handwork teacher, Nora Calcaneo, she is taking interviews now, please email her at firstname.lastname@example.org to book a time between 8:45 and 10:15 am until November 2. More information will come. A notice has already gone to High School families – if you would like to meet with your HS students teachers, please email Sarah at email@example.com to book your appointment.
Soup Pots – One last thing! There are still a couple of pots that have remained at the Grade School following our Harvest Lunch on October 5. We will happily keep them as a donation to our Community Kitchen, however, I’m thinking that somebody’s kitchen must be missing them as we venture full force into rainy-day soup season. If either of these pots is yours, please come to pick them up this week.
Thanks for reading! Have a great week.
